The Diocese of Duluth sponsors a televised Mass at 9:30 a.m. every Sunday from the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C., on WDIO-Duluth and WIRT-Hibbing. Anointing of the sick
Anointing of the sick is available the first Sunday of the month at 9:15 a.m., at St. Joseph’s Church, 315 S.W. 21st St., Grand Rapids, in the church. All are welcome to receive this sacrament of healing at any time during an illness or struggle. Anointing is always available during the month by calling the church at (218) 326-2843. Also, healing prayer is offered the second Sunday of the month at 9:15 a.m. in the church. Handicapped accessible.
Chaplet of Divine Mercy

Bible study on Mary

Rosaries for life

Consecrated life experience
Pope Francis has named 2015 as a special year to focus on the meaning and place of consecrated life in the church. The sisters of St. Scholastica Monastery in Duluth invite single Catholic women ages 18-50 who wish to learn about this vocation to call for a consultation or to arrange for a weekend visit to the monastery to meet and pray with the sisters and have questions answered. KC pancake breakfast
St. James Church, 721 N. 57th Ave. W., Duluth, will host a pancake breakfast, provided by the Knights of Columbus of Council 5142, and a Polka Mass with the musical liturgy of the Singing Slovenes Sunday, May 17. Living in Recovery Seminar
A Living in Recovery Seminar is held the third Tuesday of the month, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., at McCabe Renewal Center, 2125 Abbotsford Ave., Duluth. Newcomers are always welcome. This group works on ongoing life management issues such as spirituality, emotional recovery, forgiveness, relationships, healing and understanding recovery as a daily “way of life.” At least six months’ recovery from an addiction or a completed treatment process is preferred for attendance. Magnificat hosts evangelist
Maria Vadia, renowned international Catholic evangelist, conference speaker and author returns to Our Lady of the Lakes Chapter of Magnificat, at St. Agnes Church 210 Division St. S., Walker, for two special events open to both women and men. Friday, June 18, Vadia will speak at the Magnificat meal with registration at 5:30 p.m., followed by a 6 p.m. evening meal and presentation. Cost of the meal is $15. Camp Survive is a five-day junior high camp open to students who have completed grades 6-8. Activities include talks, music, daily Mass, reconciliation, adoration, games, swimming, archery, laser tag, survival training and more. Registration fee is $245 and includes all meals, T-shirt and lodging in cabins. Registration fee changes to $255 after July 20. Camp fills up early, so register soon. Camp begins Monday, Aug, 3 and ends Friday, Aug. 7. Dates and times for Junior Counselors are different and will be provided at a later date.
