Duluth Communion and Liberation School of Community meets every Friday evening at 7 p.m. at different locations in the Duluth area. Prayer, singing, sharing experiences, what’s been discovered and concludes with a potluck. The community is a companionship that educates. Booya at St. James
St. James Church, 299 Red Oak Drive, Aitkin, is having its 24th annual Booya on Saturday, Oct. 8, and Sunday, Oct. 9. Booya (special soup/stew) will be available to take home for $2 a scoop (or by the bucket) starting after the 5 p.m. Saturday Mass. Containers supplied. The rosary rally is once a year on the Saturday closest to the anniversary of the Miracle of the Sun at Fatima, which was Oct. 13, 1917. This is the 98th anniversary. The annual pasty marathon sponsored by the CCW of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crosby has begun. Tuesdays with Flannery O’Connor
The McCabe Renewal Center will hold discussions on two of Mary Flannery O’Connor’s stories from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.; Nov. 1 — “Good Country People” and Dec. 6 — “Revelation.” O’Connor was born in 1925 and died in 1964. During her short life she wrote some of the finest short stories of the 20th century. The Knights of Columbus Council 6791 and St. Teresa Circle of St. Raphael’s Church, 5779 Seville Road, Duluth, sponsors coffee, juice, donuts and fellowship after Masses the first Saturday and Sunday weekend of each month.

Anointing of the sick
Anointing of the sick is available the first Sunday of the month at 9:15 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 315 S.W. 21st St., Grand Rapids. All are welcome to receive this sacrament of healing at any time during an illness or struggle. Anointing is available any time by calling the church at (218) 326-2843. Also, healing prayer is offered the second Sunday of the month at 9:15 a.m. in the church. Handicap accessible.
Holy Spirit Church, 227 Third St., Two Harbors, is having a fall fest Saturday, Nov. 12, from 9 a.m. to noon. There will be vendors and crafters selling items and a bake sale. The WWME weekend is a time to look at one’s love for one’s spouse and decide to do something to make one’s love more like Jesus’ love for us.
