Golden Jubilees — 50 Years
The following celebrated their golden jubilee in August at the St. Scholastica Monastery in Duluth.
Sister Danile Lynch
Sister Danile Lynch, a native of Mundelein, Ill., and member of the Benedictine Community of Duluth, celebrated the 50th year of her monastic profession on Aug. 13, in Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel at St. Scholastica Monastery. Sister Danile has spent most of these 50 years in healthcare ministry, beginning at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth. She has also served in healthcare in Chicago; Phoenix; Red Bud, Calif.; and Washington, D.C. In the 1990s, she served the community as prioress, and currently, she is the treasurer of the community. Many years later, Sister Danile still remembers her first night in the convent. As her postulant director explained the night practices, she truly felt “at home.” Although she has had the great privilege of working across the country and traveling to many places here and abroad, she has always been grateful to know where home is — St. Scholastica Monastery in Duluth.
Sister Josephine Krulc
Sister Josephine Krulc humbly submitted the following regarding her jubilee:
“I am but a pilgrim on earth trying to act justly, love tenderly, and walk humbly with my God.”
(Based upon Psalm 119:19a and Micah 6:8b.)
