Together for Life Banquet April 29

The seventh annual Together for Life Northland Banquet will be held Sunday, April 29, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Greysolon Ballroom by Black Woods, 231 E. Superior St., Duluth. The banquet offers an opportunity to learn about the pro-life organizations in the Northland who promote a true Culture of Hope. To prepare for the banquet, St. Benedict’s Church, 1419 St. Benedict St., Duluth will be hosting a viewing of “Voiceless” Sunday, March 25 at 3 p.m. Duluth Gospel Tabernacle, 1515 W. Christ Child layettes

One of the outreaches of the Christ Child Society is to present any Mom, especially if she is in need, with a layette. These little “starter” gifts containing items that a new mother would need, from diapers to pajamas, and onesies to handcrafted diaper bags. Pictured from Our Lady of a Hope Parish in Aurora, Hoyt Lakes and Biwabik are Renee Koroshec, who has created many of these exquisite bags, and Sandy Nemanic, her mentor in this lovely craft. Valued at around $75, these beautiful layettes are disbursed through the Women’s Care Center, Birthright, CHUM, and wherever a need arises. In addition, the Christ Child Society is offering these gifts to churches in the area whose members become aware of a mom, parishioner or not, who could use some new items for her precious little one. Please call or email the Christ Child Society if you know a new mother who would appreciate receiving one: kathfors@hotmail.com, (218) 624-4583, morelandpaulette1@gmail.com, or (218) 834-4042.
