Totus Tuus is a summer Catholic youth program dedicated to sharing the Gospel and promoting the Catholic faith through evangelization, catechesis, Christian witness and eucharistic worship. The week-long parish summer catechetical program assists parents and parishes by supplementing the work already being done in a way that is fun for both the Totus Tuus teachers and youth alike. The methodology, structure, content and enthusiasm of Totus Tuus is concerned not only with teaching the faith, but also igniting the hearts of the team members and young people. The mission of Totus Tuus is to help young people develop an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ and to understand their faith through catechesis in a way that makes the faith real to the youth and helps them live as a witness in today’s world. If you would like to participate in a Totus Tuus week, please contact the individual parishes for exact dates, times and fees for individual age levels. Typically, middle school and high school students meet Sunday through Thursday evenings and elementary school students meet Monday through Friday during the day. All registration is done through the host parishes.

St. Raphael’s Knights of Columbus Council 6791 in Duluth once again organized a team to remove snow from the parish roof after the late season storms. The council organized its 18th parishioner service project by removing snow from parishioner’s driveway after the March 21st snow storm. The council also gave $500 to the Northern Lakes Second Harvest Food Bank. St. Raphael’s Church sponsored the third annual 5K for God run on April 26. The council helped organize the event by providing route barriers and security as well as other undertakings.
The Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity often “tuck sacred stops” into their visit with young women, according to a recent post on the order’s website. One of those recent stops was at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church in Duluth. Sister Julie Ann Sheahan wrote about the parish’s peace, “beautiful, reverently-adorned adoration chapel” with its easy access and also about the parish’s Marian name.
