Q: What will you see in the Catholic schools throughout the diocese the week of Jan. 28 to Feb. 3?
A: Stella Maris Academy, with Catholic schools throughout the diocese, will be rejoicing in the gift of Christ-centered Catholic education. You’ll see the enormity of Christ’s light in our students, teachers, families, and volunteers as we collectively celebrate Catholic Schools Week. Throughout the week, Stella Maris Academy will live our mission to lead, love, and serve with special focus on our parishes, those in need, our community, students, families, and staff. How fitting that we honor St. John Bosco, patron saint of youth, on Wednesday, Jan. 31, at our school Masses. Undoubtedly, our Catholic schools embody the love of Christ, and I’d like to give you a glimpse into the lives touched at Stella Maris Academy and the joy that is surely shared throughout our diocese.
Some things that make SMA “awesome”:
The teachers put a lot of time and effort into helping each student succeed. There are tons of opportunities for spiritual growth — from weekly Mass to day-long retreats and adoration. The school community is welcoming, fun, and full of joy.
Lucy, SMA eighth grader
We like memorizing the Gospel of Luke for Christmas and the visits from the priests!
SMA second graders
I like Catholic school at Stella Maris Academy because friends are always there to support me and the teachers are super nice and super helpful.
Ava, SMA fifth grader
Stella Maris Academy has been a blessing to our family and our faith-filled educational journey with our four children. We see a resurgence of energy and collaboration, fueled by the Holy Spirit, which has graced our students, parents, teachers, leaders, and priests.
John and Vanessa Paulson, SMA parents
Following in my parents’ footsteps of choosing Catholic school for me and my brother, my husband and I choose Stella Maris because we know our daughter will receive a wonderful education filled with faith, love, and dedicated teachers.
Shaina Nickila, SMA parent
I invite you to share in the joy at one of our outstanding schools throughout the diocese. Please join us in prayer for lives to be continually enriched through the mission of Catholic school education. We are grateful for your support.
May you be blessed by the light of Christ and our Catholic school community.
