He envisioned raising $1,000,000 or $10,000 for every year of diocesan life, and using the investment income for outreach to the needy and to support causes that champion the sanctity of human life in northeastern Minnesota. The Fund was officially incorporated in March of 1994. Since then, the Human Life and Development Fund Committee has met each fall and spring to award grants.
