Duluth Men’s Schola

The Duluth Men’s Schola meets Fridays at 6:15 p.m. for evening prayer and at 6:30 p.m. for practice at St. Benedict Church, 1419 St. Benedict’s St., Duluth. The schola is a volunteer apostolate aimed at fostering Gregorian chant in Catholic liturgy, in the “ordinary form” of the liturgy celebrated in most parishes or the Traditional Latin Mass. Women’s Bible study

“Lives of Integrity — A Women’s Summer Bible Study” will be held at St. Christopher’s Church, 25574 Church St., Nisswa, on Wednesday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The first six chapters of the Book of Daniel will be studied to see how he modeled integrity in a fallen world. Pro-life prayer group

‘100 Miles for Life’

‘100 Miles for Life’ is a five-mile walk down London Road to the Building for Women on Saturday, June 12, noon to 5 p.m. Register online at http://www. prolife4duluth.com. Twenty or more participants will walk five miles each, carrying signs and flags to be a voice for the sanctity of life. Free pizza and refreshments follow the walk. Polish dinner, raffle

St. Isidores Catholic Church, Sturgeon Lake, is having a Polish dinner and raffle on Sunday, June 13, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be a polka Mass at 11 a.m., silent auction and raffle for a Huffy girls bicycle, Wii Sports, large capacity gas grill, Mossberg Maverick 12-gauge shotgun and $100 cash. Cursillo Ultreya

Vacation Bible school

Natural Family Planning of the Brainerd Lakes Area free introductory sessions are on Tuesday, June 15, at 6 p.m. at St Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd and on Tuesday, June 22, at 6 p.m. at the Cashen Enrichment Center in Crosby. Discipleship Week

Moms’ Prayer Group

Bereavement group

The Bereavement/Family Support Group, Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 35808 County Road 66, Crosslake, meets every third Thursday at 4 p.m. at the church. If you or a family member are grieving from a significant loss or are experiencing depression because of a certain crisis within your life or if you just need someone to talk to, the group is there for you with comfort and support. Farewell Mass

Father Anselm Thevarkunnel will celebrate his last Mass at St. Charles Church, 308 Central Ave. N.W., Cass Lake, on Sunday, June 20, at 9:30 a.m. A brunch and time to say goodbye will follow. Monastic experience

The Benedictine Sisters of St. Scholastica Monastery in Duluth invite single Catholic women 21 years of age and older to experience monastic religious life by living and praying with them and participating in some of their ministries as a Benedictine Associate volunteer for six months to a year or longer. Room and board are provided, as are opportunities to participate in spiritual and educational programs. Golf, dinner

Wanted: Fourperson golf teams. The 2010 Tri-Parish Open (St. James, Aitkin; Our Lady of Fatima, Garrison; and Holy Family, Hillman) will be held Sunday, June 20, with a shotgun start at 2 p.m. Dinner follows golf. Four-person scramble format is fun for all skill levels. The open will be held at Ruttger’s Lakes Course (four miles south of Deerwood). Golf and dinner $85 per person. Province conference

The Province of St. Paul and Minneapolis, National Council of Catholic Women, will hold its province conference Thursday and Friday, June 24-25. The theme for the conference is “Moving Forward with Faith and Joy.” The conference will be held at St. Mary’s, 420 Irving St., Alexandria. Keynote speaker is Edward Sri. Other presenters include: Msgr. Greg Schaffer, Kathy Langer, Dorie Twist and Peter Noll. There will also be an organization share shop. The cost for one day is $30, for two days $45. Boys’ vocation camp

A vocation camp for young men with the theme “Quest for the Sacred” is a summer camp experience and opportunity for young men ages 12-16 to grow in their Catholic faith and understanding of the priesthood. It is held Thursday through Saturday, June 24-26, at Camp Vanasek near Baxter. Sports activities will be mixed with prayer and discussions. Registration fee is $70. Prayer for the unborn

An hour of prayer for the unborn will be held at the Building for Women, 32 E. First St., Duluth, on Saturday, June 26, beginning at 10 a.m. More than 600 abortions are performed in this building each year. Tax dollars are used to fund abortions in Minnesota.

Rhubarb festival

The Rhubarb Lover’s Recipe Contest at CHUM’s sixth annual rhubarb festival on Saturday, June 26, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at First Lutheran Church, 11th Ave. E. and London Road, Duluth, will highlight a new “Junior Rhubarb Chef” recipe category this year in addition to the usual adult category. Courage Conference

The Courage Conference 2010 is a spiritual conference for members and friends of Courage and EnCourage. Marian conference

The Queen of the Americas Guild and the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in La Crosse, Wis., are sponsoring a twoday conference at the Shrine in La Crosse, July 30-31, which will examine Our Lady of Guadalupe’s relationship to the laws of the Catholic faith. Operation Purple

Catholic Youth Camp will host Operation Purple Sunday through Friday, Aug. 1-6. CYC is proud to be the only site in Minnesota to serve children of active duty military personnel. Pilgrimage to La Crosse

Trip to St. Ignace

The Minnesota Federation of KSKJ Lodges is sponsoring a spiritual adventure to St. Ignace, Mich., for Bishop Baraga Days, Sept. 25-27.
