To the People of the Diocese of Duluth,
Our family would like to express our heartfelt thanks and appreciation for the outpouring of sympathy and consolation at the sudden passing of our beloved brother, your shepherd, Bishop Paul Sirba.
The hundreds of cards we have received were full of sympathy, shared grief and many stories of how our brother had touch your lives. There were many prayers and Mass offerings, memorials to the diocese and seminary fund made in Bishop Paul’s name. Overwhelming! All of this has been so consoling.
Many have asked about our Mother. With the help of the Handmaids of the Heart of Jesus sisters, she weathered the diffi cult events well. She is back home at the Little Sisters of the Poor Residence in St. Paul. We have been reading all the cards to her and they greatly help to console her.
Our special thanks to Fr. Bissonette, Rose, Bishop Paul’s secretary, and all the diocesan staff for their consideration and care of us in all they did.
We want to be sure everyone knows how much our family appreciated everything, from the cards, letters, prayers, memorials and Masses to the love you gave to our beloved brother. Thank you!
May the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, keep our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus our Lord. And may we all be comforted by accepting Bishop Paul’s motto, “Thy will be done.” We leave our dear brother in your care.
God bless the good people of the Diocese of Duluth,
Fr. Joseph Sirba
