Mass on TV

The Diocese of Duluth sponsors a televised Mass at 9:30 a.m. every Sunday from the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C., on WDIO-Duluth and WIRT-Hibbing. Come and See

The Spiritus Sanctus Secular Franciscan Fraternity is inviting you to participate in its January “Come and See” event, “Are You Being Called to Follow St. Francis of Assisi?” The Come and See is on Jan. 23 at 2 p.m. in the gathering space at St. Francis Church, 409 N. Novena of Masses

The Hibbing Deanery’s annual Novena of Masses for the protection of all human life will begin Jan. 14 in Bigfork. Parishioners are encouraged to attend as many of the Masses as possible, especially in light of the upcoming Supreme Court decision that could possibly lead to the overturning of pro-abortion laws in our nation. The Masses will be held Friday, Jan. 14, in Bigfork; Saturday, Jan. 15, in Chisholm; Sunday, Jan. 16, in Nashwauk; Monday, Jan. 17, at Blessed Sacrament (private); Tuesday, Jan. 18, in Buhl; Wednesday, Jan. 19, in Grand Rapids; Thursday, Jan. 20, in Deer River; Friday, Jan. 21, in Bigfork; Saturday, Jan. 22, at Blessed Sacrament.

Visio Divina

The Center for Spirituality and Enrichment at St. Scholastica Monastery will host an evening of contemplative prayer through the use of images, music, and sacred writings via Zoom Thursday, Jan. 27, at 7 p.m. No prior experience is needed. Restored retreat

All adults, 21 and older, are invited to the diocesan Restored retreat. Come be restored in both body and soul. Enjoy good food, time with others in community, thought-provoking talks, time for relaxation, and an opportunity for adoration, Mass, and confession. Theology Uncapped

The next Theology Uncapped event will be Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022, at 6 p.m. and will feature Father Richard Kunst and the Rev. Rollie Brockbrader discussing salvation. Virtual discernment retreat

A virtual discernment retreat will be held Feb. 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Join other single women, ages 18-50, and Benedictine Sisters from St. Mary Monastery, Rock Island, Ill.; St. Scholastica Monastery, Duluth; and St. Paul’s Monastery, St. Paul, to learn about discernment and Benedictine life. Mercy Tour conference

On Feb. 11-13, Catholics from around the Iron Range will gather at the Iron Trail Motors Event Center for the Mercy Tour conference featuring keynote presenters Steve Angrisano, Father Mike Schmitz, and closing Mass presider Bishop Daniel Felton. This inspirational event will explore the transformative power of Christ’s divine mercy through talks, music, prayer, confession, Eucharistic Adoration, and so much more. Carmelite community

A third order Carmelite community meets monthly at St. Joseph’s Church, 315 S.W. 21st St., Grand Rapids. Meetings are held the first Saturday of each month. Rosary at 8:30 a.m., followed by Mass at 9 a.m., and morning prayer. The Communion and Liberation School of Community meets every Sunday evening at 5:45 p.m. at St. Benedict Church, 1419 St. Benedict St., Duluth. Adoration and Divine Mercy Chaplet

Every Friday, immediately after the noon Mass at St. Mary Star of the Sea, 325 E. Third St., there is exposition of the Blessed Sacrament with adoration until 3 p.m. At 3 p.m. the Chaplet of Divine Mercy is recited, followed by Benediction.

Grief support

A grief support group meets the first and third Thursday of the month from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Immaculate Heart Church, 35208 County Road 37, Crosslake, in a lower level classroom. For more information call Jean at (218) 839-1958.

Charismatic prayer group

Proclaimers of Christ Catholic charismatic prayer group meets the second Thursday of the month at St. Agnes Church, Elm at Division Street, Walker. Father Solanus Casey Fraternity

The Father Solanus Casey Fraternity of the Secular Franciscan Order meets the third Sunday of each month at 12:30 p.m. at Holy Family Church, 2430 W. Third St., Duluth. Secular Franciscans are lay Catholics and diocesan priests who commit themselves to living lives of simplicity, prayer, peacemaking, and service to the church and others, especially the poor. Public square rosary

Our Lady of Fatima, Garrison, and Holy Family, Bulldog Lake, holds a public square rosary the fourth Tuesday of each month at 1 p.m. near the big walleye fish at the lookout on Mille Lacs Lake in Garrison (Highway 169). All are invited to join in prayer. The rosary is prayed for the intentions of our Blessed Mother, the conversion of sinners, and to reconcile ourselves, our families, and our nation back to God. Tours are being offered of the old log church at Sts. Mary and Joseph Church in Sawyer. The log church is on the National Register of Historic Sites. Narrated tours are led by Deacon Bryan Bassa.
