Parish-based organization grants available

The Human Life and Development Fund granting committee has funds available for parish organizations. There is a separate process for parish-based organizations to apply for a grant from the Human Life and Development Fund without having to go through the general application process. Since parish organizations sometimes need funding for a one-time event, this application process aims to make it easier. These guidelines will be followed:

• Only parish-based organizations are eligible for these grants, which are never to exceed $1,000 per grant.

• Projects must support the sanctity of life or serve the needy, the poor, hungry, homeless, and jobless in the Catholic Diocese of Duluth, comprised of the counties of St. Louis, Koochiching, Aitkin, Lake, Cook, Carlton, Pine, Cass, Crow Wing, and Itasca.

• Emergency assistance will be considered in very limited circumstances.

• Projects may address local socio-economic issues that are analogous to the sanctity of life and the alleviation of poverty and hunger.
