The annual Respect Life Essay Contest sponsored by the department of Marriage, Family and Life of the Diocese of Duluth has begun. The essay contest strives to promote middle- and high-school students’ ability to articulate the arguments for respecting life. This year’s theme is “Live the Gospel of Life.” Students in middle school, grades 5-8, and high-school, grades 9-12, are eligible. All submissions should be postmarked by Dec. 18. Prize amounts are higher this year since Covid has messed up almost everything else (first prize is $150, second is $75, and third is $50). You may also see the guidelines and poster found under “Links” at www.dioceseduluth.org/marriage-and-family-life or contact Betsy Kneepkens at (218) 724-9111 or [email protected]
Northland Family Programs, a FertilityCare Center, holds free Creighton Model FertilityCare System introductory sessions. CrMS is based on the knowledge and understanding of the naturally-occurring phases of a woman’s fertility and infertility. A woman can know her cycles and use this information for the maintenance of her health. Further, couples can use this knowledge to plan their family and build their future together.
