Father Seth Gogolin led a eucharistic procession with fifth graders at St. John’s Campus of Stella Maris Academy on the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima Oct. 13.
The Saint Francis of the Lakes Catholic School Foundation’s 24th annual dinner went far beyond the school’s expectations, drawing more than 160 attendees who heard the announcement that the school had raised enough funds to retire the school loan. Bishop Daniel Felton addressed the gathering, and those in attendance were able to enjoy world-renowned composer Eric Genuis and fellow musicians. The event also honored Mary Boran, who was the founder of the annual dinner. The amount remaining on the school’s loan was from an improvement and expansion project completed in 2010. The St. Francis Catholic School Foundation challenge of $150,000 was matched by more than $150,000 in contributions from businesses and individual donors, which will be enough to pay off the loan. Dinner income and other foundation contributions additionally raised approximately $83,000. Funds will benefit students and staff today and into the future.
Registration at the Catholic schools in the diocese is now open. Please contact your school for more information.
